Please check the “How To Get Here” page for all the main modes of transportation. If you’re booking a train from the airport, search for Karjaa (Karis) – you’ll switch at Pasila – and can purchase tickets via VR Tickets. Once you’re in Karjaa, you can schedule a pick-up with us for 10€.

The nearest grocery stores are in Karjaa: Lidl, K-Market and S-Market. You can bike (30 minutes), take the nearby bus (15-20 minutes), or share a car with other Hub Feenix residents (10 minutes) to get to town.

Every Wednesday, the sauna comes to life - one of our favorite weekly rituals. Each month, we gather for an Artist Talk, where you’ll share what they’ve been working on. In between, the calendar fills itself: terrace dinners, movie nights, and fireside chats. At Hub Feenix, community grows through participation, and you’re encouraged to initiate gatherings that bring everyone together.
In the Artist Residency Wing, you'll be with fellow artists and they are from all over the world. Nomads, residents, the staff and volunteers live in other parts of the building, creating a lively community of about 40+ people.
Signal is how we stay in touch here. Think of it as the group chat for everything happening in the house. Please download it before you arrive and message your point of contact so they can add you to the groups.
We regularly host scheduled events and workshops, so make sure to check out our events page. Spontaneous happenings like film screenings, group dinners, and sauna nights are shared via Signal, so you’ll always be in the loop!
You’re responsible for keeping your room tidy (we’ll provide the supplies), keeping the communal areas of the wing clean with the other artists, and taking out recycling and compost as needed.
We ask that you clean your room, change the sheets and help get it ready for the next guest. Detailed instructions are available in your in-room booklet.
A laundry room is available with a washing machine, detergent, and drying racks for use in your bedroom.
Basic heating is provided in shared areas. For colder months, rooms and studios have electric heaters. You’ll pay for your own usage. It is typically €60–€80/month, billed at €0.15/kWh.
No need! Finland’s climate keeps things cool enough. We focus on heating when it counts.
The nearest art supply stores are in Helsinki. But if you can't make it to Helsinki, there are several art supplies online stores in Finland that deliver the products quickly, sometimes even within a day. This includes Tempera, Konsta Shop, Diverse, Artejljee, Art Shop and Finnish Painters Union.
Our cafe opens especially for attendees during special events. If there’s an opportunity for the community to join, we’ll announce it in the Signal group.
Most shared spaces at Hub Feenix are available to you and included in your stay. A few areas, like the yoga room on the 4th floor and the home cinema on the 2nd, are open for use when the invitation is extended to the wider community. Think: a group yoga session led by a fellow resident, or a movie night for all. Just let us know in advance, and we’ll help make it happen!
